We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled Conversion Specialist to join us at our Durban Seafreight Office.
Education
- Grade 12 Certificate
- FIATA Diploma or equivalent 3-year freight forwarding qualification
Knowledge and experience
- Minimum – 5 years’ experience in the freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of applicable laws; regulations and other government requirements.
- Results-oriented with the drive to grow an international ocean freight forwarding business.
- Experience participating in the creation of strategic growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with a systematic problem-solving approach.

- Customer service orientation - able to handle a demanding customer environment.
- Dynamic self-starter that works independently and can handle pressure.
Overall responsibilities include
The Conversion Specialist will be support to KAM’s/OPS with conversations
- Analysing current CFR shipments
- Comparing the cost difference between CFR & FOB
- Reporting on progress, savings and exceptions
Incoterm Conversion Strategy
- Review current CFR shipments to identify lanes suitable for FOB conversion.
- Work with procurement, sales and servicing
- To provide market intelligence/analysis, latest trends and challenges
- Carrier Knowledge and routings
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Good Communications skills (written & verbal)
- Provide national support on Röhlig- Grindrod’s #Connected for Growth conversion uncontrolled volumes strategy and The Good to Great Strategy.
